Marshes (Wetlands) Route

Depart the hotel or reception at the airport. We begin this journey by visiting the Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve . This protected natural area has over 741 000 acres.

We go on a trip up the Usumacinta River on boats where you can admire hundreds of birds that gather each year  in Pajaral to feed themselves and breed from December to April.

After this tour we will visit the Interpretation Center Uyotot-Ja (Casa del Agua). This site makes the visitor aware of the importance of taking care of the environment, threatened plants and animals, besides being an ideal place for activities that integrate knowledge and observation of the flora and fauna of this important region of the country.

At the end of the tour we will reach a stilt house where visitors will be able to taste typical food of the region (not included) and enjoy the wonderful view from the confluence of the rivers Usumacinta, Grijalva and San Pedro, a place better known as “Tres Brazos” (“Three Arms”).
Return to the hotel or airport. End of tour!
