La Venta Park Museum treasures one of the largest collections of artifacts belonging to the Olmec culture (Those who lived in Tabasco and are ancestors of the Mayans). This site was designed, organized and assembled by the poet Carlos Pellicer. Its inauguration was held on 4 March 1958. La Venta Park-Museum is exhibiting 36 pieces of monumental proportions.

It is advised to have a lunch in one restaurant of the town, check in at Hotel and the rest of the afternoon is free to have a walk in the city of Villahermosa, its parks, its lakes, its rivers and go shopping to its malls. There are no organized activities during that afternoon and evening so you have that time as a free time.

Day Three. COCOA ROUTE (ARCHAEOLOGICAL AREA / HACIENDA/ PUERTO CEIBA) / HOTEL

We will start the trip by visiting ancient Mayan city located in the lowland forests of Tabasco; this archeological zone of Comalcalco which is known as “the only city built with clay bricks.  The Comalcalco prehispanic settlement was an important commercial enclave in the Chontalpa region, which constitutes a transit zone between the Gulf Coast and the Yucatan Peninsula for connections with Central America.

Then we will visit the cocoa Hacienda Jesus Maria “CACEP” located in the Municipality of Comalcalco; in this place you will know the true story about how to make the original chocolate and tree plantations that yield this seed. Our host will take us in a fabulous trip showing how throughout centuries the cocoa was part of Olmecs and Mayans life and how those men turned cocoa into chocolate, how it was transformed into a luxury product in Europe, and how it has become a multimillion dollar business today.

We advise having lunch in Puerto Ceiba.  We will come back to Villahermosa (that evening you can experience a deserved quietness for your spirit).

Day Four. Marshes Route (Wetlands) / Night off

This  is no surprise for in this area the most plentiful element is water, there is an enormous amount of marine species such as birds, mammals, plants and trees which give a unique touch to this ecosystem, which is one of the largest around the world because of its contribution to the environment.
