Jungle and Pyramids

1st DAY: VILLAHERMOSA / ARCHEOLOGICAL AREA PALENQUE / HOTEL

We will pick you up at Villahermosa airport. We immediately go to the archeological zone of Palenque, which is located  approximately 2 hours of Villahermosa. It is one of the most intriguing archaeological sites in the  country, being considered by UNESCO as cultural heritage of humanity.

It is one of the best preserved Mayan cities and holds a lot of history. Your tourist  guide will  tell you the story of Pakal, the red Queen and his warlike people. Walking through its  courtyards and palaces is a unique experience, after this fascinating tour we will have  a  meal in a lovely restaurant, then check in at our hotel (Hotel Mision Palenque).

2nd DAY: ARCHAEOLOGICAL ZONE OF YAXCHILAN / BONAMPAK/ LODGING IN LACANJHA

Early departure, We will travel to the border of Guatemala. We stop midway to have breakfast in a roadside hostel which, by its environment, serves as a precursor to what will explore.
Arrival at the town of Frontera Corozal, where we will  board a boat that takes us through the majestic river Usumacinta to the archaeological site of Yaxchilan (Its origin dates back some two thousand years, when a group of men established themselves to form a village which, throughout  centuries, turned into one of the most beautiful and powerful cities in the Usumacinta Basin).

Return and lunch at Frontera Corozal. We return to the road, to make a stop at Bonampak. Archaeological site managed by the Lacandon ethnic group. Bonampak is famous for its murals which still retain their original colors, something unbelievable. We stay overnight at camp Lacanjha, here we will know a little about the ancient culture of the Lacandon, ancient Maya people who still retain some of their origins.
